I can relate in so many ways, Robin (yet my childhood days were some of the best of my life). Always trying to be the healer, the giver never the taker, the rescuer, the one who sacrifices in order to feel validation, bona fide, self worth, eventually becomes an empty vessel —
It takes years for one to realize there is nothing left to give. Exhaustion, fear, anger, sadness, bewilderment and uncertainty become the ingredients — all of which cannot begin to refill the vacuousness.
Your outlook and the real work you are doing to grow, nurture and ultimately harvest what will feed your soul, and in turn your children’s, is provocative.
